Well! Round 5 was big! The epic cricket rivalry continued between Villa and Ashgrove on Saturday. Villa got Ashgrove all out for 134 with 4 overs to spare and won with 6/135.

In a huge boilover, Iona rolled Lauries and won their first game of the season against an undefeated SLC.

The Padua grounds staff did an amazing job to even get cricket played at Banyo. A great tussle between Pats and Padua with the boys from Shorncliffe taking victory by 6 runs after a delayed start.

This will make for a massive last two rounds for those vying for top spots. Villa v Pats and Padua v Ash this weekend and SLC v Villa and Ash v Iona in Round 7. All the best boys!

Lauries tied up the score though on the Volleyball court, beating the undefeated Iona 1st VI 3 sets to 2. Iona will need to win against the underrated SEC this week and then the might of Ashgrove in Round 7 to take the title.

With SLC still in the news, their stellar Open AFL team will have a break this week with the Bye and will be firm favourites in the last round v Villa. Unfortunately due to early washouts, SLC did not play the other front runners St Pats, sounds like it would have been the match of the season!
