AIC Swimming Championships Postponed

After lengthy discussions between member Colleges, the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC) Swimming Championships scheduled for Tuesday 11th March has been postponed.

A number of the AIC schools will be closed on Monday 10th March as a result of damage caused by the weekend weather. There are also access issues to school campuses caused by flooding.

The AIC Swimming Championships have been postponed to allow the Colleges in the AIC and members of our community sufficient time to begin the recovery process from the severe weather event this past weekend. This decision also focuses on ensuring the earliest possible return to on-campus learning at all Colleges.

The Associated Independent Colleges (AIC) are working with our event partners, Brisbane Aquatics Centre and Swimming Queensland, along with all member Colleges to identify an appropriate date for the rescheduled event. This will be communicated with the community once it has been finalised.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all in our AIC Community and the greater south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales communities that have been impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred and resulting serious weather event.
