The AIC Football competition continues to be one of the premier schoolboy football competitions in the country. In 2023, the AIC competition catered for over 200 teams with all 8 Colleges having strong representation in all Year levels.
In the inaugural list of inductees to the AIC Sports Hall of Fame- Michael Zullo (Villanova) was included for his Football career that included a stellar A League career and Australian representation for the Socceroos.
First XI Premiership
A dominant Iona First XI team won the First XI Premiership after completing a season highlighted by great attack and a very staunch defence. For the season, Iona were able to score 40 goals and only concede 4 over the course of the 7 games to remain undefeated. St Laurence’s were able to secure 2nd place with St Peters in 3rd. 
Year Level Premierships
Close competition existed throughout the season in many of the different year level premiership divisions. Congratulations to the following schools who claimed premierships:
St Laurence’s: 7A, 7B, 9B*, 10A, 2nd XI*, 4th XI
Padua: 7C, 8A, 9B*, 9C
Marist College Ashgrove: 8B, 9A, 10C, 3rd XI
Iona: 8C, 9B*, 10B
St Patrick’s: 2nd XI*

Aggregate Competitions
St Laurence’s claimed an AIC Football record 10th Aggregate Championship in 2023. This achievement was accomplished with all 12 of St. Laurence’s ‘aggregate’ teams finishing in the top 3 of each their respective premierships. Marist College Ashgrove finished 2nd. Padua and Iona could not be separated over the course of the season and finished in a tie for 3rd.
