St Peter’s Lutheran College has taken a step towards another AIC First IV tennis title but some talented schools lurk as challengers heading into Saturday’s second round.

St Peter’s will take on Iona College at Indooroopilly in their first home game of a season that began with an 8-0 win over Marist College Ashgrove in last Saturday’s opening round.

St Peter’s has won six consecutive First IV titles but the 2019 season looks to be competitive.

St Laurence’s College also won its opening clash with St Patrick’s College 8-0 while Villanova College toppled St Edmund’s College 7-1.

Last Saturday’s other match fell to Padua College 5-3 in a tight tussle with Iona at Shaw Sports.

Padua travels to Villanova College this Saturday in an interesting match-up of two unbeaten teams.

St Edmund’s hosts St Laurence’s while either St Patrick’s or Marist Ashgrove will chalk up their first victory of the season when they meet at Club Coops.
