AIC did it differently this term – short 3 round season with finals. It was an exciting concept, one of which will be repeated with Rugby, Football and Chess starting next week. Each College hosted an age group for basketball and tennis finals. St Laurences hosted all the Open divisions for both sports. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us on Friday and all Open tennis finals were cancelled. The basketball finals were hugely successful and the ‘Gold’ and ‘Bronze’ medal games were thrillers. Padua beat St Peters in the 7-8 playoff; Pats beat Ashgrove in 5-6 playoff and Iona just got Lauries for third. Villa led for the majority of the 1st V match but the last half saw some uncharacteristic missed shots and opportunities. Eddies just didn’t go away and the few 3 pointers at the end sealed the deal.
