The 2025 AIC Tennis season wrapped up last weekend, once again showcasing the outstanding talent and skill across all eight member schools. This year’s competition featured some of the best young players in Queensland – and even nationally – ensuring a high standard of Tennis across every division.
St Peters Lutheran College reaffirmed their AIC Tennis dominance, claiming the Aggregate Championship Shield, the First IV Premiership, and six divisional premierships. Remarkably, across the 12 premiership divisions, St Peters teams finished in the top three in all but one competition – an achievement that continues to set a benchmark for the Association.
“Congratulations to the whole St Peters Tennis community on another outstanding season. Winning the Aggregate for the 11th consecutive year is a testament to the strength of the program, built over many years and driven by the dedication of students, coaches, and staff,” said Mr Daniel Fraser, St Peters Head of Boys Sport.
The race for the Aggregate minor placings was tightly contested, with Marist College Ashgrove finishing second and Iona College taking third.
First IV Drama Goes Down to the Wire
The St Peters First IV secured their third straight premiership in thrilling fashion, going undefeated across the seven-round season. The title was decided in the final round against St Laurence’s, with the match ending in a draw and sets required to separate the two schools.
“In 2025, the First IV Premiership was hard fought right until Round 7. With St Peters and St Laurence’s effectively playing a grand final, the outcome came down to the final game and needed sets. Congratulations to all the boys for securing a three-peat of the First IV Premiership,” Mr Fraser added.
St Laurence’s finished as ‘Runners-up’ in the First IV competition with Marist College Ashgrove and St Patrick’s sharing 3rd place.
Premierships Shared Across the Association
While St Peters claimed the lion’s share of premierships, there was plenty of success across the competition:
-
Marist College Ashgrove – 10B and 8B Premierships
-
St Laurence’s College – 2nd IV* and 10A Premierships
-
Villanova College – 9A and 8A* Premierships
-
Iona College – 9B and 7A* Premierships
-
St Patrick’s College – 4ths* Premiership

In the primary competition, where no official premierships are awarded, the contests were equally spirited. Marist College Ashgrove stood out, finishing undefeated across all four Year 5 and 6 divisions – a remarkable effort that highlights the future strength of their tennis program.
Thanks to Our Tennis Community
The AIC extends its thanks to the dedicated coaches across our Colleges for their commitment to developing players, as well as to the many Tennis Centres across Brisbane and Ipswich who host fixtures. Their support ensures that AIC Tennis continues to be played on some of the best facilities in the region.
