Both St Peters and Villanova have taken back to back swim titles. Villanova won the Primary Shield for the second year running while it’s 5 in a row for St Peters in taking out the Senior Aggregate.
It was one of the closest carnivals we have had in some years and Ashgrove certainly took it to SPLC all day. With less than 15 points going into the second half of the program, the relays were going to really matter. The Open team of St Peters was outstanding and this division helped them over the line for sure. St Peters won the 15yrs, 16yrs and Open ages while Ashgrove won the 13yrs and 14yrs. Villanova’s juniors have come through well over the last few years and they won the 12yrs age group.
17 records were broken on the day – Ashgrove with 10; St Peters 6 and one to Iona. We saw some good improvement from Iona in the seniors and breaking into that top 4 will be a challenge that our other schools will strive for!
Ashgrove took out the Year 5 division convincingly from Villanova, but Villa were too good for Iona in the Year 6’s. Villa’s top two places in the ages got them the shield.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers, coaches and staff. Well done!
