Congratulations to Marist College Ashgrove for taking out the 2017 Cross Country Championship yesterday at Limestone Park. The Ashgrove runners must be praised for their consistent running all day, it’s what got them over the line in the end. Their 5th and 6th placed runners within the age group did extremely well. It was very close leading into the 16 Years and Open races with Iona and St Peters still right behind them. It was so close that there was only 9 points separating the top FIVE schools! Iona the runners up, St Peters, Villanova and St Patrick’s couldn’t be separated for third, St Laurences, Padua and St Edmunds placing after that.
Iona College took out the primary aggregate once again. With Villa being a front runner in pre season, the Iona boys performed above expectation. Lauries took out the Year 5 age group in a dominant performance while Iona won the Year 6’s.
Well done to all our students who placed in the top three – a wonderful effort considering the hot conditions.
