Well, what another crazy term of sport! Due to the effect of COVID would have on teams, the First teams were the only teams vying for premiership. With wild weather and abandoned rounds, it certainly kept us on our toes! Thanks to the Directors of Sport who kept the wheels turning each week. Special mention to the staff at AFL Qld for their continued support. The 1st XI Cricket comp was predicted to be close and it didn’t disappoint. Our last few results came down to one ball in some games. Iona ended up the victors in the 1st XI comp.
Villanova made it a clean sweep in the other 2 team sports – Volleyball and AFL. They had to overcome a competitive Padua College on Friday night to take it outright. It went down to the wire, with Villa winning by only 2 points. Villa 1st VI Volleyball team only dropped 3 sets all season, a great effort.
It’s another short turnaround to the next trimester of sports. Rugby and Football trials have already started. We wish everyone a safe and healthy Easter break.
