Congratulations to St Peters Lutheran College who won the 21st AIC Swim Championships at the Sleeman Sports Complex on Monday. Marist College Ashgrove won the Primary Championships.
A wonderful effort by both schools.
11 records were broken yesterday, 3 individual and a relay alone by James Leigh of Ashgrove. Michael Pickett of SPLC smashing the Open 100m Freestyle record by over a second.
The Primary champs were very exciting with the overall lead changing throughout the first half of the carnival. The Year 5 boys from Villanova were too good though and Villa won the Yr 5 Aggregate. Marist College Ashgrove were too good in the Year 6’s and also won the Primary title by 40 points. Padua College the big improvers in the primary events, coming 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Yr 6 and 5 divisions. Ashgrove were fantastic in the 12 and 13yrs divisions, winning the age groups by big margins. St Peters won the rest of the age groups (14yrs – Open), and were simply awesome in the pool!
Congratulations to all 8 member schools, it was a great day in the water.
