Congratulations to Marist College Ashgrove, Villanova College and Iona College who are our 2022 XC Champions!

Villanova and Iona could not be split for the Primary Shield. Both were convincing in their age group wins – Villa winning the Year 5’s while Iona won the Year 6’s. They both came third in the opposite age groups and tied for the primary aggregate.

Iona pushed Marist early with a dominant display of running in the 12 Years, taking out the first, second and third place in the age group. Iona also won the 16yrs age but Ashgrove once again showed their depth in cross country and took home the cups for all other ages, winning the 13 Years, 14 Years, 15 Years and Opens. A clear 10 points ahead of Iona and the rest of the field was a little more spread out from previous years. Villanova rounded out the top 3 places for the senior title.

Aggregate Shield Points: Marist 55; Iona 48; Villanova 38; St Peters 31; St Patrick’s 30; Padua & SLC 22; St Edmunds 19; Ambrose Treacy 11

It wasn’t an ideal pre season this year but each and every runner did their College proud! Well done to all of the competitors and coaches from our member schools.
