AIC ‘OLD BOYS’ MAKING THEIR MARK ON THE VOLLEYBALL SCENE

Of course our news section will be dedicated to the current AIC students and what they are achieving. However, it’s also wonderful to hear what some of the ‘Old Boys’ are up to and how they have excelled beyond the AIC sporting competition.

Lincoln Williams, Mitchell Tully and Beau Graham – all Iona boys coincidentally, were selected in the Australian U23 Volleyball team that competed at the Asian Cup earlier in the year.

All three past students had never touched a volleyball before going to Iona and playing in the AIC competition. In fact, Beau was selected in the B team in Year 8 and worked extremely hard to move up into higher teams as he got older.

Volleyball is the fastest growing sport within AIC with schools nominating teams to D division in a number of year levels. Without that exposure to such a sport, these past AIC students may not be where they are today. We congratulate them and hope they reflect on their AIC volleyball days with fond memories.
